Primera Femenina | Horta-Haxelia and Boadilla, fighting for promotion to Liga Iberdrola
We now also have the two finalists who will fight for promotion to the Liga Iberdrola Femenina. One of them is UE Horta Haxelia, who comfortably won their semifinal tie against AR Concepción-Cdad. Lineal. After the near-decisive 18–11 win in the first leg, the team from Barcelona prevailed again, this time in Madrid (11–14). After reaching the final quarter tied (9–9), the Catalans pushed hard in the last eight minutes (2–5). Marina Pineda and Ana Rubio scored 10 goals between them.
The other finalist is CDN Boadilla. This semifinal was decided with much more struggle. Molins had won the first leg at home by 9–8. In the return leg, the team from Madrid also won by a single goal (10–9). With the goal difference equal, the better regular-season ranking of the capital team prevailed (second place compared to the Catalan team’s third). With the score tied at 9–9 with under two minutes to go, Elena de la Cruz’s final 10–9 goal was decisive.
The final between Horta and Boadilla will begin this Saturday in Madrid (18:30) and will conclude on June 7 in Barcelona.
