C M - Anaconda Water Polo: "We Are .... C!"
Founded less than a year ago by Presidentissimo Massimiliano Cirilli and his wife Sabina, the Anaconda Water Polo A.S.D. association immediately achieved the goal it had set for itself: immediate promotion to series C, achieved at the end of an exciting competitive season.
Moreover, all the prerequisites for success were in place: an ambitious and enthusiastic management and technical staff combined with a group of eager players ready to prove their worth were willing to make the sacrifices necessary for the practice of water polo, as all fans of this sport know.
Some numbers: during the championship, Anaconda Water Polo won all the matches in the qualifying round and then also dominated the final phase, prevailing with a significant 5-point lead over the second-placed team. 178 goals were scored, while only 101 were conceded. It is worth noting that all field players scored goals, demonstrating the coach's decision to rotate the entire squad of players at his disposal.
As mentioned, the credit for this great success goes to the drive of the management, the ability of the technical staff, led by Fabio Rossetti and Federico Gardon, and the dedication of the athletes, many of whom are very young. Their undeniable technical skills were enhanced by great camaraderie and an equally fundamental team spirit. We must also not forget the unwavering support of the families, who consistently and passionately played their role as the first and main supporters of Anaconda Water Polo.
Next year, we will be in series C and, consequently, we will have to face teams of considerable technical level and much more experienced than us: to face the championship as best as possible, another step up in quality and an even greater attitude for sacrifice will be necessary.
However, we are certain that everyone - the management, the coaches, the athletes - will know how to face the difficult challenges that lie ahead.
