Decisive step for the title by NO Vouliagmeni, 14-12 in penalty shootout against Olympiacos and 2-1 wins (pics)
One victory separates NO Vouliagmeni from winning this year's championship. Kiki Liosi's team secured a thrilling victory at the Laimou swimming pool after defeating Olympiacos in a penalty shootout 14-12 (regular match 10-10) in the third match of the Women's Water Polo A1 Play Off Finals on Tuesday (27/5).
The title is decided by three wins, and NO Vouliagmeni leads the series 2-1. The 4th match will take place on 29/5 at 19:30 at the Piraeus swimming pool, and if needed a 5th match will be held on 31/5 at 16:30 at Laimou.
The third final had a tense development with Olympiacos taking the lead at the start of the match, going ahead by two goals (1-3, 2-4, 3-5). Later, the home team improved in defense and with a 3-0 streak took the lead with 6-5 (2.02 before halftime), maintaining the advantage until the final minutes when Siouti equalized to 10-10 (3.42 before the end).
The teams went to a penalty shootout where Kiki Liosi's players were calmer and scored in all executions, unlike the visitors who missed twice (Vasiliki Plevritou and Fotini Triha).
