VON wins on a rollercoaster with Marina and grabs second place
A significant victory for VON, beating Marina Militare La Spezia 10-8 at home in the Serie C Water Polo Championship on the seventh day of the return round, despite the black-out in the second half, they reach second place and enter the playoff zone.
"We are very pleased with this result," commented coach Daniele Osigliani. "A game of two halves: we started strong then we faded a bit due to some individual errors. The crowd gave us incredible support, pumped us up and brought us back into the game. We managed critical situations well in the final period and won the game. It's not over now: as I told the boys, we still have two very important games to win."
The day, marked by many direct clashes, once again reshuffled the cards for the top of the standings which now sees Canottieri Milano in first place again, victorious in the final sprint against Busto Pallanuoto, tied on points with VON and Arese, defeated in Lago Figoi by Andrea Doria, now third alongside Busto and Marina Militare.
