Convincing Defeats for Zvezda and Valis, Return of Vuk Milojević
The water polo players of Crvena zvezda suffered convincing defeats in the eighth round of the Premier Regional League. The Red-Whites were beaten by Jadran from Herceg Novi with a score of 15:6, while Valjevo lost by the same difference to Mladost in Zagreb (16:7). Split's Jadran justified their favorite status against Primorje (12:7), and currently New Belgrade and Solaris are playing, while other matches are Primorac vs. Šabac and Jug vs. Radnički.
The Red-Whites managed to keep up with Novljani until the middle of the third quarter. Jadran led 3:1 in the first period, and then Dmitri Holod increased the lead to 5:2 with two goals in the second quarter, a scoreline that remained until halftime. In the second half, Zvezda managed to narrow the gap to "-2" twice, but Jadran repelled those attacks and extended the lead to 9:4 with a three-goal run, significantly increasing the difference in the last eight minutes.
Strahinja Gojković led with four goals, Danilo Radović and Danilo Stupar scored two each, and Vuk Milojević marked his return to the pool after a six-week break due to a jaw injury.
The Zagreb team set a strong pace against Valis and were already ahead 4:1 after eight minutes. It seemed that everything was settled at the beginning of the second half when the score stood at "8:2," although Valjevo managed to reduce the deficit with three goals. However, they did not have the strength for more, so Mladost responded, extending the lead to 12:6 six minutes before the end and comfortably closing out the match. Josip Vrlić was the most efficient for the winners with three goals, while Veljko Krstić scored two for the visitors.
