Freshman Corbin Stanley Named Men’s Water Polo Big West Player Of The Week
Stanley is the second Long Beach State player to win the award this season.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Big West announced Wednesday that freshman center Corbin Stanley was awarded the final Big West weekly honors. Stanley has been a key player for the Beach in his first season as a true freshman. The center ranks second on the team with 47 goals scored and leads in earned ejections, totaling 31.
The Beach wrapped the regular season with two non-conference match-ups dominating both No. 19 Loyola Marymount, 18-7 and No. 8 UC Irvine, 15-6. Stanley recorded hat tricks in both matches as well as adding four earned ejections against the Anteaters. The freshman had a 60% shooting efficiency on the weekend and currently has over 73% efficiency in the season.
No. 8 Long Beach State travels to Northern California for the Big West Championships hosted by UC Davis. The Beach (17-10, 2-3 Big West) was awarded the No. 5 seed and will face the No. 4 seed UC Santa Barbara (15-11, 2-3 Big West) in the opening round this Friday at Noon.
