Our national team lost on penalties (19-18) against Italy - For 7th place with Serbia
In the penalty shootout our National Youth Men's Water Polo team (U19) was defeated by Italy with 19-18 (regular match 14-14), for the European Championship, which is held in Burgas, Bulgaria and will claim on Saturday (7/9) at 14.00 the seventh place in the competition against Serbia.
We remind you that in the context of the third match of Group B, on Tuesday (3/9), the players of Ilias Machira beat the Italians 12-10.
The game was uneventful with consecutive changes in the score. In the last 16 seconds, the Greek group equalized at 14-14, with Spyros Lykoudis (scoring a total of 6 goals). In the penalty shootout, however, our internationals missed five out of nine executions, while it is characteristic that 18 attempts were needed from both sides to emerge the winner.
