Defeat by Croatia (11-10) and exclusion of our national team from the 4th place - For places 5-8 with Italy
Our National Youth Men's Water Polo (U19) team was defeated by Croatia 11-10, on Thursday (5/9), in the quarter-finals of the European Championship, which is held in Burgas, Bulgaria, and was eliminated from the quartet of the organization.
The Greek team will face Italy on Friday (6/9) at 15:15 for the 5-8 places.
The game was lopsided and was decided in the last period when the Croatians led 10-8 (4.58 before the end of the match) and 11-9 (in the last three minutes).
At the beginning of the match, the players of Ilias Machira found themselves behind in the score (3-6 in the second period), however, they managed to lead 8-7 (3.24 before the end of the third period) with... Lykoudis, but, in the end, they were defeated in the details.
