Serbian 16-year-olds defeat Hungary and advance to the quarterfinals of the European Championship

In the second round of the European Championship for players under 16, the Serbian cadet national team defeated Hungary 14-9, securing their second victory at the European Championship in Istanbul and advancing to the quarterfinals.
The team led by Vojislav Čupić had a great start to the match, taking a 2-0 lead by the end of the third minute with goals from Nikolas Nestorović and Luka Anđelić. The Hungarians caught up, but Serbia maintained a one to two-goal lead until the end of the first half, when the Hungarians turned the score around and took the lead for the first time (7-6). However, Nikola Pavlović quickly equalized, and the first half ended in a tie.
The Hungarians started the second half better, taking a 9-7 lead, but Serbia responded with three consecutive goals to turn the score to 10-9 by the end of the quarter. Then, with furious play in the last eight minutes, Serbia achieved a convincing victory.
Uroš Munćan and Nikolas Nestorović were the top scorers with four goals each, and Serbia played with the following lineup: Kosanović, Mićić, Anđelić 1, Munćan 4, Bistrović 1, Šiljković, Vuletić, Savatić, Stanimirović, Papić 1, Pavlović 2, Jakovljević 1, Paležević, and Nestorović 4.
In the third round, on Wednesday at 7 pm local time, Serbia will face Spain, who defeated Hungary 16-10 and Turkey 14-12.
