WATER POLO / EUROPEAN YOUNG MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP (U19)
First victory, with an upset, for our National Team, 16-10 Germany
On Monday afternoon (2/9), our national team achieved its first victory in Group B of the European Youth Water Polo Championship (U19), in Burgas, Bulgaria, as it prevailed with 16- 10 against Germany.
Our representative group may not have started the match well, finding themselves 6-3 down in the first eight minutes, but then with a stunning 9-0 run they went ahead 12-6 and comfortably reached the last 16 -10.
Our big star and top scorer was Semir Spahic with 7 goals.
Greece will face Italy in their third Group game on Tuesday (3/9) at 14:15, aiming to finish in one of the top two positions in order to qualify directly for the last 8.
