La Fiorillo Academy wins game 2, but Grifone advances to Serie B

SERIE C, Grifone Nuoto – Fiorillo Academy 8-10

The season of Fiorillo Academy in Serie C concludes with a victory. In game 2 of the promotion final, coach Davide Bini's team defeats the powerhouse Grifone Nuoto 8-10, but Grifone advances to Serie B due to a higher number of goal difference from game 1 (which ended 9-14). A fantastic performance by every player of Fiorillo Academy, who remain in Serie C but with a truly valiant match, showcasing the tremendous growth of this very young group. Congratulations to the opponents – we will try again next year!

Words from coach Davide Bini: "It was a beautiful match. The boys really gave their all, with heart and character. Despite the regret of not making it to Serie B, the team has grown throughout the season, as confirmed by this amazing performance. We saw young players stand on par with water polo legends like Antonio Vittorioso, and players of another level like Federico Lapenna and Daniel Presciutti. Congratulations to Grifone for the well-deserved promotion. We gave our best."

Coach Bini again: "I hope this victory is a starting point for us to establish a different, winning mindset. It was a wonderful season, filled with many sacrifices, joys, and pains, shared with the boys, with Mino and Marco, whom I thank for their support, as well as the club. Congratulations to all the older athletes: Eleuteri, Taraddei, Tarquini, Di Marco, and D'Antilio, true leaders of the group in and out of the water. Now with the younger ones, we focus on the Junior semifinals: the boys know they have to work hard. We are on the right path!"
