Final round set to decide 2025 Suzuki Division 2 National League champions

The stage is set for an epic conclusion to the 2025 Suzuki Division 2 Water Polo National League, with the final round kicking off Friday, 20 June in Hawke's Bay. After two rounds of competition, it's all coming down to this weekend — and with the title race wide open in both the men's and women's leagues, expect some fierce competition.

Women’s competition: a tight battle at the top

Seven clubs — Harbour City, Hawke’s Bay, Hutt, Mountfort, Tauranga, Waikato, and Waitakere — will meet in Hawke’s Bay for the final showdown.

Harbour City currently sit top of the table, but Waikato are just two points behind. Close on their heels is Hutt, who’ve only played one round so far and trail by just three points. With so little separating the top contenders, the women’s title is wide open.

Men’s competition: four-way fight for glory

Eight teams — Harbour City, Hawke’s Bay, Marist, Mountfort, Otago, Tauranga, Waikato, and Waitakere — are preparing for a high-stakes weekend on the men's side.

Waikato and Waitakere are tied at the top with 14 points each. Not far behind are Marist and Harbour City, both within three points of the lead. These four sides — the only teams to have competed in all three rounds so far — are all in contention. With just one round left, every game will matter in what’s shaping up to be a fiercely contested finish.
