DHM PLAYOFF PERMANENCIA I El CN Caballa-Ciudad de Ceuta se adelanta al Real Canoe NC (10-9/1-0)
CN Caballa-Ciudad de Ceuta edges Real Canoe NC at home (10-9) in the Men's División de Honor Playoff for Relegation in Game 1 of the best-of-three series, taking a 1-0 lead.
In an intense and closely contested match, the team from Ceuta held even with their rivals in the first two quarters (3-3 and 2-2). The third quarter also remained perfectly balanced (2-2), although the Madrid side had Javier Ibáñez (3 goals) as their main offensive threat.
It was only in the final quarter that Peter Kubicsko’s players tipped the match in their favor (2-1) against Emilio Bautista’s squad. Both teams are fighting to remain in the Men’s División de Honor, and we’ll have to wait for the second game in Madrid on Sunday, May 18, to see whether the series is tied (and goes to a third game) or decided.
