GZC DONK has been at the top of Dutch water polo for years. This is evident from the many successes we have achieved in recent seasons. This year, both the women's and men's teams managed to win the cup final. A magnificent double halfway through a busy and intense season. And it doesn't stop there, as the playoffs are just around the corner - both teams still have a chance at the coveted national title.

Heading to Europe
In addition to national ambitions, our teams also tested their strengths at the European level this season. The women competed in the Champions League and the men in the Challenger Cup. These were challenging, sporting experiences for both the players and the club. Playing European matches is special - performing at the highest level in the water and behind the scenes requires a lot of dedication.

Our women impressively finished third in the group stage of the Champions League - a wonderful result that shows we can also compete internationally. The men went even further. They reached the final of the Challenger Cup - and won it!

A golden day in the club's history
Saturday, April 26, 2025, will go down in history as a historic day. The men clinched victory in the final of the Challenger Cup, bringing unprecedented joy throughout the entire club. The phenomenon of club spirit emerged in all its glory. A moment to be proud of and never forget.

Volunteers make it possible
Within our association, we are fortunate to have a large and dedicated group of volunteers. We are so grateful for them. When it became clear that both teams were going to play in Europe, a small group of us got together to plan the organization of the away and home matches. The list of tasks grew rapidly: from ticket sales and dressing the pool area to first aid, live streams, and - for the final - also press events, a medal ceremony, and other media activities.

What initially seemed like a huge challenge turned out to be a beautiful example of team spirit in the end. Within a few days, more than 35 volunteers signed up - even from other departments within the club. Isn't that amazing?

Last weekend's final felt like the icing on the cake. Everything was prepared to perfection. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the day went smoothly, and we received a tremendous amount of compliments. Slowly, it is dawning on everyone: we have become part of water polo history.

Finally - a word of thanks from both teams:
"We cannot thank the volunteers enough for all they have done for us. Your dedication made our European adventure possible. Thank you, everyone!"
