No surprise for the last day of women's Elite
The last day of the regular phase of the women's Elite championship lived up to expectations... without any real surprises. The favorite teams held their ground and the final standings remain unchanged, outlining the matchups for the semi-finals.
Bordeaux shaken but solid
The Bordelaises were the favorites, but the mission was far from easy. The Angériennes, determined players, resisted for nearly two and a half periods, holding their own against the USBB (3-3) thanks to disciplined defense and applied teamwork.
But the Bordeaux experience eventually made the difference. More incisive in finishing, the USBB players gradually widened the gap in the second half of the match to eventually win 9-5. An important victory that allowed them to secure the second place in the standings.
In the semi-final, Bordeaux will face GNAC, who convincingly beat Toulouse (23-9) in a one-sided match. This confrontation between Bordelaises and Nancéiennes promises to be particularly fierce and uncertain.
Nice serious but without miracles
Aware that only a perfect record would give them a slight chance to climb in the standings, the Niçoises did not falter. Against INSEP, they quickly took control of the match: 5-1 after one and a half periods, then 7-2 at the start of the last quarter. The end of the match was well managed, allowing ONN to secure a serene victory and take all three points.
Despite this excellent performance, Nice remains fourth, and will have to face LOSC Water-Polo, the undefeated giant, in the semi-final. A mountain to climb, but ONN can approach this challenge without pressure.
