New Zealand men's water polo team named for FISU World University Games
Congratulations to the outstanding athletes selected to represent New Zealand at the 2025 FISU World University Games, set to take place in Rhine-Ruhr Germany in July!
This year's World University Games marks a return for New Zealand's men water polo team, as it will be the first time in many years that we’ve competed in this prestigious international university sporting event. We're proud to be back on the global stage, showcasing the talent and determination of our student-athletes.
The team includes athletes who recently featured in the Oceania Challenge test series against Australia, as well as a few set to compete at the upcoming World Aquatics U20 Water Polo Championships in June. Many of these players are also gaining valuable experience in the US collegiate system, developing their game within top programs alongside some world-class players.
We can’t wait to see this team represent Aotearoa with pride. Congratulations to all those selected.
