
Aggies Register Four Hat Tricks on Senior Day
DAVIS, Calif. – In the final home game of the season hosted at the Schaal pool, the Ags took down the Titans with a stellar 9-point victory, sending the seniors off on a sweet note.
The team celebrated the incredible careers of graduating Aggies Maddie Sumner, Sam Yoo, and Kelly Hungerford at the end of the win in a ceremony filled with laughter and tears.
The four gals taking a trip down to the hattery include redshirt junior Gianna Nocetti, sophomore Sadie Henry, and freshmen Georgia Daly and Margo Tempel. Senior Sam Yoo and sophomores Bridget Miller and Lillie Vehling all scored two apiece as well, rounding out the Aggie goal scorers.
Kelly Hungerford led the team in assists, capping off with three on the day and added a steal and field block. Redshirt junior Maddie Sumner made two field blocks, an assist, and two steals.
Eva Stein defended the cage in the first half, making four saves and two steals. Lucy holland then took charge and logged three saves and a steal.
Final Score: UC Davis 18, CSUF 9
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Gianna Nocetti earned the first sprint of the game, and the other three after that for the Aggies. She also was first to dent the twine in the game, scoring within the first two minutes of play.
Margo Tempel hammered two back-to-back goals in the first quarter of the game as well before Sadie Henry finished out the first quarter.
Miller copped the first game of the second quarter, inspiring Nocetti and Daly to score. Sam Yoo fired a goal off the powerplay, showing her senior fire.
Nocetti earned her hat trick early in the third, and the Aggies continued to rack up the score. On the defensive end, the Titans could only score one in the third quarter of the game.
The Aggies were relentless in the fourth, finding inspiration all through the end to double the score against the Titans.
