KNZB JTT boys beat ZVL1886 | Waterpolo.nl

In the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven, the boys of the KNZB Young Talent Team secured their third victory of the season. Eredivisie team ZVL 1886 was defeated 15-7.
ZVL coach Miilos Filipovic traveled with a young selection to the City of Light. It was the experienced Leiden player David Spijker who led the way for the visitors. The sharpshooter scored a hat-trick in the first period. JTT managed to score one more in that first quarter: 4-3.
After the first break, the team coached by Branko Mitrovic extended their lead. Despite missing two penalties, the score was 8-5 in favor of the 'home team' at halftime. In the final quarter, the Leiden resistance was broken as the difference widened to eight goals.
Edu van den Brom and Rick Terlouw were the top scorers for the Dutch U-20 team with three goals each. David Spijker netted four times for Leiden. Youth internationals Mila Spee (2) and Tristan Valette completed the scoring for ZVL.
