Visiting Jadran wins the derby in Split - Croatian Water Polo Federation

On Sunday, most of the matches of the 16th round of the Premier League were played, including the derby of the round. Among the Croatian teams, we saw a total of one win and three losses, but it is worth noting that one match was a 'Croatian duel' (Mladost - Solaris).

Split team drops to 4th place

Before this round, our Split-based team Jadran was in second place, but after the weekend, they dropped to fourth place. The consequence of this was a defeat in their home pool against namesakes from Herceg Novi.

The Montenegrin club in Split showed a really strong performance, taking an early and high lead (4:0 at the beginning of the second quarter, and 6:1 in the middle of the same). This is a lead that is very rarely caught up in matches between such teams. Especially when there are problems with converting extra player opportunities, which unfortunately our champions had. In the end, the away team won by 6 goals difference.

Dominant Mladost

Zagreb's Mladost had no problems in their pool against Solaris. In the end, this was to be expected. Towards the end of the second quarter, the home team was already leading 7:2. Young Fran Dobrić stood out with 3 goals as the top scorer.

Rijeka defeated in Šabac

Primorje EB traveled to Šabac hoping to surpass the Serbian team with a victory and move up one place on the standings. They did not succeed as the hosts were better, leading 5:2 in the first quarter. Šabac maintained a lead of 2 to 5 goals throughout the match.

On Monday, the remaining match of the 16th round will be played between Novi Beograd and Crvena zvezda.
