Radnički to face Brescia in the quarterfinals of the European Cup
In the quarterfinals of the European Cup, the water polo players of Radnički will face the team of Brescia, as determined today by the draw in Zagreb.
The first match is scheduled for February 27 in Italy, with the rematch on March 20 in Kragujevac.
Radnički and Brescia are familiar opponents, having met in European competitions for several seasons, so it is certain that a tough test lies ahead for the Šumadija team. Brescia currently shares the top spot with Pro Reko in the Italian championship.
In the Round of 16, Radnički eliminated Dubrovnik's Jug, while Brescia was more successful against the German team from Hanover.
The winner of this two-leg tie will face the better team from the matchup between Mladost (Zagreb), with Igor Milanović, and Jadran from Herceg Novi in the semifinals.
In the quarterfinals, we will also witness a Serbian coaching duel. Slobodan Nikić's Vasas will face Pro Reko, led by Miloš Ćirić, with Sandra Sukna as assistant.
The other quarterfinal pair consists of Sabadell (Spain) versus Primorac (Montenegro).
Unlike last season, this season the European Cup will not end with the Final Four. The competition returns to the old format, with matches played at home and away. The semifinal games are scheduled for April 1 and 24, and the final for May 10 and 24.
