USA Water Polo 2025 Coach Academy Schedule Now Available; Registration Open For Chicago & Atlanta
Irvine, CA - January 17, 2025 – The USA Water Polo Coach Academy is back for 2025, offering both in-person and virtual coach education programming. Six dates have been announced for in-person academies around the country with three additional virtual dates. Registration is open now for the February 8-9 weekend in Chicago and Atlanta with registration coming soon for the remaining events.
Launched in 2019, USA Water Polo Coach Academies are designed to support coaches at all levels, fostering the growth of water polo nationwide. These academies provide a mix of educational sessions and hands-on workshops to help coaches improve their skills, connect with peers, and grow within their roles, whether they're guiding beginners or experienced athletes.
Coaches explore topics like tactical strategies, different approaches to technical skills and athlete development, practice design and drill development all with a focus on building fundamental skills. Additionally, participants explore their own leadership and coaching styles
The academies also offer opportunities for participating coaches to explore building positive team cultures, creating environments conducive to learning, communicating effectively, both with parents and athletes, and managing team dynamics. "2025 is the year we take a major step forward in the world of water polo coach education. We've significantly expanded our in-person offerings, and we're excited to offer even more virtual coaching education series this spring and fall. It's all part of our strategy to collaborate with leaders across the high school, club, and collegiate levels, as well as within our national team pipelines. By partnering with these experts, we aim to provide quality educational opportunities for coaches of all ages, helping them continue their journey of growth as leaders and mentors of young athletes in our sport," said Drew Clute, USA Water Polo Education Manager.
