A2 M - R.N. Arechi-Giorgini Ottica Muri Antichi 7-7

The first match of 2025 ends with a draw for Giorgini Ottica Muri, tying in Salerno against Arechi and continuing the streak of positive results. At Muri, perhaps they consider it two points lost rather than one gained, but Arechi played a tough game, putting pressure on the team led by coach Scebba, who suffered from a lack of clarity in crucial moments of the match. A few less mistakes in scoring opportunities could have allowed them to take the full points home.

The entire 40 minutes of the match were lived on the edge of balance with continuous back and forth from both sides.

In the first period, Nicolosi and Marangolo scored at the end of the time for a temporary 2-2 tie. In the second period, rich in goals, Basile, Tkac with two goals, and Marangolo led Muri to take the lead with a new advantage (5-6), but De Sio restored the tie at the end of the first two periods. In the third period, Gregorio and Nicolosi scored, followed by nearly 12 minutes without goals, with the fourth and final period ending in a draw at 7-7, giving Giorgini a point that moves them up the standings.

"The feeling is that we missed an opportunity," said president Luigi Spinnicchia. "We were not very bright at certain moments and we wasted a bit too much. However, a draw away from home in Salerno cannot be discarded, it's a shame we didn't extend the lead when the game gave us the chance to do so. Our opponents deserved the draw. Some of our more experienced athletes delivered a subpar performance after a long break, but that can happen, and now we will try to prepare for the upcoming matches as best as we can."

"The boys did everything we had prepared," said coach Aurelio Scebba. "We lacked the decisive move and above all the clarity. We needed to be more clinical, we made many mistakes in front of goal and we paid for it. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with the draw, I have nothing to reproach the boys for, and we will continue this positive streak. We will review the mistakes made; today's opponents were of a high level, and some insecurity after the long break is understandable. We hope to recover Alberto Lanto as soon as possible."
