Radnicki's big turnaround at the start of Champions League qualification
Radničko water polo players achieved victory at the start of the new season, in which they have great ambitions. In the first match of the qualifying tournament for the Champions League, the people of Kragujevac beat the Hungarian BVSC 10:9, but they achieved a very important victory after a major reversal, with a goal by the experienced Duško Pijetlović five seconds before the end of the match.Sumadin entered the match without two very important players, Strahinja Rašović and Dušan Vasić, due to suspensions earned in previous clubs, but they will be able to count on them tomorrow, in the match with Greek Vuljagmeni, which is scheduled for 20:00.
The match in which two fantastic teams met fully lived up to expectations, and was decided after a fantastic turnaround in the last quarter in which Radnički managed to make up for the three-goal deficit and achieve an extremely valuable victory.
The people of Kragujevac opened the game well, they had two "extra" goals on two occasions (2:0, 3:1), but they allowed the opponent to equalize two seconds before halftime through David Tartai (4:4).
In the continuation of the match, the guest managed to turn around and gain a big advantage of three goals (8:5) with mostly successful counterattacks. Radnički tried to get back into the game with a goal by Petr Jakšić with a player more, but the last two seconds were again fatal and BVSC through Segalmi entered the decisive part with "plus three" - 9:6.
And then, there followed an almost perfect quarter of Uroš Stevanović's chosen team. The experienced Duško Pijetlović immediately started the rival's net, followed by the fantastic captain of Serbia, Nikola Jakšić, with a miniature after which he almost walked into the opponent's net, to a thunderous ovation from the stands and a goal behind in the middle of the last quarter - 9:8. Goalkeeper Radoslav Filipović followed up with several good interventions, and exactly 105 seconds before the end, Georgian representative Valiko Dadvani tied the score - 9:9. With 33 seconds left in the match, Radnički had a player that he didn't use anymore, but the ball bounced to Kragujevčan, who from a positional attack through Duško Pijetlović achieved a great victory five seconds before the end.
The most effective in the Kragujevac team were the centers Duško Pijetlović and Nikola Murišić with two goals each, as many as David Tartaji, Mikos Čapo and Matijas Mesaroš scored on the other side.
In the first match of the first round, Mladost Zagreb defeated Vuljagmeni 11:6. On Saturday from 18:00, Mladost and BVSC will meet, and from 20:00, Radnički will play with Vuljagmenija, led from the bench by our expert Vladimir Vujasinović.
