Announcement from the session of the Board of Directors of VPSCG | Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro
At today's meeting of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro (VPSCG), a decision was unanimously made on the date and place of *holding an extraordinary session of the Assembly of VPSCG, for 14.10.2024. in Podgorica.
It was concluded that the placement of the senior water polo national team at this year's Olympic Games in 2024 is a great success.
The Board of Directors expressed great satisfaction that all three of our selections entered the semi-finals of this year's major competitions, with two medals won.
- IV place at the U16 World Championship held in Malta on June 18-25, 2024. year;
– 3rd place at the U18 World Championship held in Argentina on July 2-09, 2024. year;
- 2nd place at the U19 European Championship held in Bulgaria on September 1-07, 2024. year.
It was established that our swimmers made great progress. Miloš Milenković broke the Montenegrin record by a full second in the 100-meter butterfly at the European Championships in Belgrade.
The Supervisory Board expressed particular satisfaction that a compromise solution had been found and that the Premier part of the Regional Water Polo League (RVL) will be played as a league in the 2024/25 competition season, in which two of our teams, "Primorac" and "Jadran M:tel" will compete. . The inclusion of PVK "Budućnost" Podgorica in senior water polo competitions is a great encouragement, and they wished the new management success in their further work. The named club will play in group "B" of the A1 section of the RVL with another of our representatives, "VA Cattaro" Kotor with clubs from Serbia, while "Budva Budvanska Riviera" will play in group "A" of the A1 section with clubs from Croatia and "Branik" Maribor.
The Decision on the dismissal of the Expert Council for water polo, as well as the dismissal of the Expert Council for swimming, as well as the decision on the modalities of the smooth playing and holding of water polo and swimming competitions until the election of new organs and bodies of the VPSCG, were unanimously adopted.
A report on the cross-section of the financial situation of VPSCG was also adopted, in which it is stated that all incoming obligations have been settled and there are funds for basic functioning until the end of the current calendar year.
At the end, the resignation of the president of the VPSCG, Dr. Đur Marić, who resigned for known personal reasons, was announced.
