Men's U19 European Championship: Warriors Club, quarter-final (resurrection) chapter
It has recently been revealed that the quarter-finals are a different, cruel genre: the German team seemed to be the easiest in vain opponent at the U19 European Championship in Burgas, they managed to beat them by the end of the match with bloody sweat. It is true that the overall picture of the match was basically defined by the fact that we had to come back from 1-5 after the first quarter, but the guys fought hard and won by one in the end, so they will play the Montenegrins, who eliminated the Serbs in a penalty shootout, for the final.
The match started terribly - it was fine until we played the first man advantage well and Márton Zeman finished it, but then out of nowhere came a German shot from outside, which slipped in, so that the three more goals from the next three attacks. Two shots from afar, then a change of goalkeepers, but the ball also bounced off the hand of János Gyovai from a short distance. The next goal was easily saved by the German goalkeeper, Vince Varga trusted the power of the ball, but it was no longer a real situation... After that, the Germans took an attack to five, i.e. we were able to hold on from 1-5 after the break - although on August 22 at the same time 5 We took a 1-1 lead in Szeged in the Daikin-Herakles Cup...
With Leinweber's great drop, we immediately closed the gap, but then we missed two important chances, even though we could have pressed them further quickly after possession. It's good that after a corner our action went to five, Leinweber halved the deficit (5-3). Benedek Mór made a big block in the deficit, and Zsombor Pörge's bomb in front took the goalkeeper's hand, we made it 3-0 in four minutes, it was already starting to look normal. They managed to avoid a double disadvantage, and there was a chance to equalize, but Pörge overdid it, the goalkeeper saved him twice. The problem was that Jaschke shot through three blocks in time... The ratio of saves was 1-7 at that time.
Gyovai finally caught a long shot, but the Vargás wanted to become heroes too quickly in front, and the half-high balls were treated by Spittank. In the end, Leinweber couldn't put it away next to or under him after a six-pointer during the five turns, so he looked only a little better (4-6) than eight minutes earlier (see also the shots: 16/4 and 11/6; the Germans they were in a better position despite the fact that the ratio of shots hitting the goal was 14-7 at that time).
And the beginning of the third quarter definitely made us feel that we can only win here today with enormous suffering - Leinweber reached for the ball too loosely, so the it became the Germans to swim over, from that came a relaxation, from that five... They shot at them. We responded with an advantage, if everything is true, Bence Haverkampf's ball crossed the goal line, but that also caused Burger's wrong-handed goal to shoot an action goal from behind, so we were still at three. Leinweber finally bombed a healthy free throw, but even though we kept the centers well, we still lacked accuracy and composure up front. Until finally, at the end of a normally passed attack, the incoming Varga clicked perfectly, we came back to one again, and there was still plenty of time left.
We defended a two-shot deficit, and then they blew a counterattack against us, but Elemér Gidófalvy was sensational we came two-on-one from Sharkáz's possession of the ball, and Haverkampf checked, and we eventually got back to 1st (8-8). It really started to come together, we created another disadvantage, it's true, and then came the third counter in a row against our center... In the end, Leinweber snapped it from the outside, so the final part started at 8-8.
And soon. unlike the previous one, Leinweber brought the ball smoothly, Szécsi could only be stopped at the cost of an exhibition, and Márton Zeman finished it off - we took the lead for the first time after 1-0. Not for long: in the last second of a practically defended attack, Klaffke surprised Gyovai from an impossible angle... It's good that Zeman shot through the zone from a recovered ball, and then we pushed the Germans to the bar. The Romanian referee started to become unfriendly quite seriously, he blew an exhibition on a shot that went by the side, which was eventually beaten, i.e. we couldn't calm down much (10-10). Then we got one too, we came from a timeout, but Varga dribbled a lot, the ball was knocked out of his hands - but then he started from the departing German shot and didn't count: he stopped five meters away and shot the goal 3:22 before the whistle.< /p>
Gyovai and Benedek stopped the German shot with a joint effort, then they got another one, plus they asked for time, there was 1:53 on the clock. However, the defense was on its feet again, two shots, zero goals - but Leinweber only hit the post from outside. The Germans didn't have enough strength left either, they tried to shoot without a chance, we got the ball with 25 minutes to go, the timeout came reassuringly at 14 - Leinweber went all the way across the pool with the ball, that is, even at the cost of immense suffering, but he got the goal. victory. It should definitely be written in the team's favor that after the five goals they scored in the first quarter, they scored the same amount in the next three quarters, so they finally managed to reach the semi-finals, where they will meet the Montenegrins, who surprised the Serbs, again, after the group matches.
