【#Waterpolo】Konishi Yume and Jonoshita Kaho are the best athletes of the tournament (47th National JOC Junior Olympic Cup Summer Swimming Championships) | Japan Swimming Federation, a public interest incorporated foundation


The water polo competition of the 47th National JOC Junior Olympic Cup Summer Swimming Championships was held at Kyoto Aquarena in Kyoto Prefecture for five days from the 22nd to the 26th.

24 teams participated in the A division for boys and girls under 12 years old, 24 teams in the B division for boys under 15 years old, and 16 teams each in the C division for girls under 15 years old and the E division for girls under 18 years old, and fierce battles were waged every day.

In the A division, Nagasaki Water Polo Club, who came in first in the preliminary G group, advanced to the finals, including a penalty shootout, and faced off against Kochi Swimming Club, who came in second in the same G group. Nagasaki Water Polo Club won the finals, beating Kochi Swimming Club 7-5.

In the B division, Ishikawa Eagles, who were in first place in the preliminary L group, won the game by one or two points to advance. In the final, they faced El Atene Swimming School Nagahama, and although they were behind, they caught up in the fourth period and the game ended in a tie. Ishikawa Eagles won the penalty shootout and became the winner.

In the C division, Haruno Water Polo Club, who showed overwhelming strength by scoring double digits in all the final tournaments, defeated Kyoto Water Polo Club in the final to win the championship.

In the E division, Kyoto Prefectural Kamoike High School played against Hideaki Yachiyo High School. Hideaki Yachiyo took a three-point lead in the first period, but Kyoto Prefectural Kamoike reversed the lead in the third period. Hideaki Yachiyo tried to catch up, but fell one point short, and Kyoto Prefectural Kamoike won the championship.

The best players of the tournament were Konishi Yume (Ishikawa Eagles) from the B division for men and Jonoshita Kaho (Kyoto Prefectural Kamoike High School) from the E division for women.
