Spain, back from a successful training camp in Montenegro before the European Championships
Our junior men's team is back in Spain after completing a training camp in Montenegro with the Balkan team and in the Netherlands. The team led by Chus Martín and Sergi Mora, which has been training at the CAR in Sant Cugat since July 29, has been in Radanovici from the 20th until last Saturday to carry out joint training and preparation matches with two of the powerful teams of the old continent. The European Championship starts on September 1 in Burgas (Bulgaria).
The water polo players who have participated in the concentration are: Oier Aguirre, Genís Blanch, Eudald Flaqué and Marc Rodríguez (CN Mataró), Unai Lema and Tomás Perrone (CN At. Barceloneta), Gabriel Acosta (CN Sant Feliu), Lorien Arruga (CN Helios), Santiago Barba and Enrique Nuño (Real Canoe NC), Dídac (CN Granollers), Saúl Granados (CW Málaga), Carlos Núñez (CN Sant Andreu), Albert Sabadell (CN Terrassa) and Joan Villamayor (CN Barcelona).
"It was a training camp in which we were able to work for a few days with the Netherlands and Montenegro. We played two official matches. We won 10-14 against the Netherlands and lost 10-11 against Montenegro. The feeling was good, we came back with information to prepare for the Junior European Championship and face these last three days of preparation at the CAR in Sant Cugat," analyses Chus Martín.
"I'm happy with the work of the group and now we'll take advantage of this final stretch of preparation to iron out some details and be much better prepared for the competition," adds the coach.
