SESI dominates South American Club Championship and is champion in men's and women's competitions - News :: CBDA
(Rio de Janeiro, December 10, 2023) SESI was the champion of the South American Club Championship in men's and women's competitions, held at the Vila Leopoldina headquarters in São Paulo. The competition, which ended this Sunday (10), was organized by CBDA in partnership with SESI and approved by CONSANAT.
In the women's competition, SESI had a brilliant campaign until the final. They won three games before defeating ABDA in the decisive match by 17 to 5. Regatas Lima, from Peru, beat WP Nacional, from Chile, by 7 to 6 and finished in third place.
In the men's competition, the team from São Paulo needed four wins to reach the final. In the dispute for the title, SESI played a tough game to defeat Flamengo by 13 to 11 and win the South American Club Championship. Sesi Jr finished in third place after beating Gymnasia Esgrima, from Argentina, by 12 to 8.
SESI also dominated the individual awards. Miriã Silva and Rudá Franco were elected the best players of the tournament, while João Silveira, Matheus Junqueira and Maya Ranssen were the best goalkeepers. Lucas Andrade was the top scorer. All of them are Sesi athletes. Daniela Torres, from Regatas Lima, was the top scorer among the women.
