Former Serbian water polo player Duško Pijetlović said that he has finished his playing career. In his career, Pijetlović played for Vojvodina, Partizan, Pro Reko, Crvena zvezda, Sintez, Dinamo from Moscow, Solnok and New Belgrade.

He played his last match on June 7 for Novi Beograd against Olimpijakos (6:9) in the match for third place in the Final Four of the Champions League in Malta.

Playing is over. I didn't tell anyone and I don't think it matters now. I'm proud, it was nice - said the former Serbian national team member for "Sport klub".

He also referred to the success of our water polo players at the Olympic Games.

Let's leave the final recapitulation for next month. There is time. Now these guys are important, I'm happy and proud of them. I know what they went through and how much this gold weighs - said Pijetlović, who won two gold and two bronze medals with Serbia at the Olympic Games.

Pijetlović was twice world champion with Serbia, and won a silver and a bronze medal each at the WC. At the European Championships, he won five gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Of the six Serbian national team players who had a ceremonial farewell at the SRC "Milan Gale Muškatirović" swimming pool two years ago, only Andrija Prlainović did not end his career, who will also wear the cap of French Marseille next season. Even that summer, Gojko Pijetlović, Stefan Mitrović and Milan Aleksić said goodbye to water polo, while at the end of this season Branislav Mitrović, Filip Filipović and Duško Pijetlović hung up their caps.
