About the Water Polo Official Committee
At the KNZB, swimming depends on the efforts of many volunteers, supported by the association office. For water polo, the Water Polo Official Committee (WPOC) is responsible for the policy regarding officials in the Netherlands. The WPOC supports 1,250 referees and thousands of other officials. Within the WPOC, the Task Group Signaling & Assessment is concerned with assessing water polo officials. We are looking for a chairman and members for this task group.
Task Group Signaling & Assessment
The task group regulates the process of signaling and assessing. This ensures that (club) referees with potential are noticed more quickly. Signals also help to determine the correct level of centrally scheduled referees. The task group emphasizes the importance of signaling to coaches, captains, fellow referees and referee coordinators within clubs. Based on these signals, referees can be deployed at other levels after assessment. The aim is to have referees function at an appropriate level.
The Signaling & Assessment Task Group is responsible for
- Implementing the established policy in the field of signaling and assessment.
- Providing insight into the quality of the referee corps.
- Issuing a maximum number of assessments in order to gain clarity about the level of the referees.
- Implementing the signals at all levels.
- Keeping the number of signals as high as possible.
- Ensuring adequate systems in consultation with the office.
- Appointing assessors.
- Drawing up agreed reports of issued assessments.
- Drawing up agreed reports of received signals.
- Answering questions from officials regarding signals and assessments.
Specific tasks for the chairman
- Helping to draw up the policy plan for assessments and signals for all officials in Netherlands.
- Managing the system of signaling for officials.
- Initiating and providing periodic consultation with the Signaling & Assessment Task Group.
- Making proposals for decision-making to the WPOC regarding the promotion and demotion of referees and other matters.
- Making improvement proposals to the WPOC regarding the assessment and signaling.
- Drawing up a draft annual plan for signaling and assessment.
What do you bring?
- You have a great affinity with water polo and keep a close eye on developments within the sport;
- You have an affinity with aspects that play a role with officials in sports
- You are open to change and focus on making things better
- You are prepared to spend 3-5 hours per week on this role during the season, from September to May
- You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and are able to familiarize yourself with special programs make;
