Galatasaray with Mihailović and Saković Wins Women's and Men's Titles in Turkey

The men's and women's teams of Galatasaray, led by Serbian coaches Predrag Mihailović and Miloš Saković, have won the Turkish championships.

Mihailović, former head coach of the Australian women's national team and assistant to Dejan Savić in the Serbian coaching staff, has a lot of experience working in Turkey, where he returned two years ago to take over the men's team at Galatasaray. Galatasaray's water polo team, under Mihailović's leadership, won their first European trophy last year - the Challenger Cup.

This season, Mihailović was involved with both the men's and women's teams. The women's team made their European debut this season, with Mihailović as the head coach. The water polo players participated in the Challenger Cup, achieved a high placement, but couldn't replicate the success of the men's team. Galatasaray won silver after losing in the final to their big Turkish rival, Izmir, who defended their title. Vojvodina also participated in the Challenger Cup Final Four and finished fourth.

In the second half of the season, Mihailović focused on the men's team at Galatasaray, while Saković took over the women's team.

Saković, at Mihailović's invitation and as part of the collaboration between Galatasaray and Valis, the team he coaches in Valjevo, arrived at the Turkish club at the beginning of this year. The women's team, under his leadership, got revenge on Izmir in the playoff final with a 3-1 victory. Izmir was left without the domestic title for the first time in six years.

Galatasaray's men's team, with Mihailović on the bench, faced their city rivals, Enka, in the final and won the championship in a clean sweep, winning the first three matches 3-0. Serbian water polo players Milos Maksimović (now a representative of Australia) and Dejan Vujović also played for Galatasaray.
