Start of the battle for the title. Steaua and CSM Oradea play in Ghencea in the Superliga final
Steaua and CSM Oradea meet today in the first match of the National Water Polo Superliga final - 2024/25 edition. The game will take place at 20:00, at the Steaua pool in the capital.
Steaua Bucharest passed to the semi-finals with a 2-0 score against Rapid Bucharest, while CSM Oradea won 2-1 against Dinamo Bucharest.
In this season, the two teams faced each other in the Romanian Cup final as well. In the trophy match, played in Târgu Mureș, the team coached by Bogdan Rath won 12-9.
Steaua has won the last eight Romanian championship titles. The team has a total of 20 national titles in its record.
On the other hand, CSM Oradea has 9 championship titles and returns to the National Superliga final after a year of absence. Last season, the team from Bihor ranked 3rd after being defeated in the semi-finals by Dinamo Bucharest.
The first match between CSA Steaua and CSM Oradea will take place tonight, at 20:00, in the Steaua pool, and can be watched live on TVR Sport. The second match will be held in Bucharest as well, on Monday, May 19, at 12:00.
The final is played according to the "best-of-five games" system.
