
Seven Beach Players Earn All-Big West Honors
Martina Cardona and Elisa Portillo were both named to the conference first team.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Big West announced the 2025 Women's Water Polo All-Conference awards on Friday afternoon with Long Beach State earning selections in all teams with seven players named.
Spanish duo of Martina Cardona and Elisa Portillo both earned their first All-Big West First Team honors after leading the Beach to back-to-back conference finals. Cardona led the team with 70 goals while also being named to the Cutino Award Watch List. Portillo led the team in assists and steals in the year, earning her third conference honors. After an impressive season, both players joined the program Top 10 in career goals scored.
Senior Chelsea Oliver earned her first conference recognition after a standout season, making to the All-Big West Second Team. Oliver became third in program history to pass the 700 career saves mark after leading the conference with 224 saves in the year.
Seniors Amanda Price and Jamie Oberman earned their first career honors as they were selected to the Honorable Mention team after leading the Beach in and out of the water. Freshman Daniela Quinzada Gonzalez joined the senior earning her first conference honors as well.
Quinzada Gonzalez and Rita Gurri Capel were both named to the All-Freshman team. The young Spanish duo had impressive first seasons with Gurri Capel finishing with 39 goals, third on the team and Quinzada Gonzalez leading the team in earned ejections with 43 while adding 27 goals tied for fourth on the team.
