Young Dutch boys and girls under 16 in Budapest | Waterpolo.nl

The boys and girls of the Dutch selections under 16 years old will be training and playing in Budapest next week. In the Hungarian capital, the national talents will meet both club teams and national youth selections from the global water polo powerhouse.

Talent coaches Eszter Gyori and Zeno Reuten are preparing their teams for the U16 European Junior Championships, which will take place at the end of June and beginning of July in Istanbul, Turkey. Gyori, who worked in the Hungarian youth development for years, is looking forward to valuable training sessions and matches in her home country: "I'm excited to introduce the Dutch girls to the water polo culture around Margit-Sziget (the world's water polo island). We have a group with a lot of potential, but still lacking in international experience. We will work on that in the upcoming week."

Also, boys' coach Reuten and his colleagues Pascal Janssen and Arjen Silvis are curious about the performances of their selection against counterparts from Vasas Plaket, Young Hungary, and Young Poland. Reuten: "This is what our athletes need; international experience." The training camp in Budapest runs from Sunday, April 27 to Thursday afternoon, May 1.
