Men's National Team: 17 Traveling to Naples
Zsolt Varga has selected 17 players who will participate in a joint training camp in Naples with the Italians in the coming days.
The national coach mentioned regarding the squad that from these 17 players, he plans to select the 15-player squad for the upcoming World Cup Super Final in Podgorica next week.
“Now the focus is even more on the youngsters, as I am well acquainted with the skills and abilities of the more experienced players. The younger trees can only root and grow if they get more light. Let no one misunderstand, we are not cutting the older ones out, just moving them aside a bit to see how much the youngsters are capable of developing—a World Cup final's three matches are just the right setting for sharp gameplay situations to reveal this.”
After the training in Naples, the team will spend another day and a half at home before heading to Montenegro on Thursday, where they will face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
