Serbian 14-year-olds the best at the "Nenad Nena Manojlović" tournament
For the third year in a row, the Serbian water polo team won the "Nenad Nena Manojlović" International Memorial Tournament, for players up to 14 years of age, which was held in Kragujevac for the ninth time in honor of the legendary Serbian coach, water polo player and coach of the national teams of Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. .
Serbia defeated the Galatasaray team from Istanbul in the final, with a score of 13:5, while the bronze medal went to the water polo players of Lazio from Rome, after a triumph over the local team Radnički with 10:8, while the Italian Trieste was fifth, after the victory over Slovakia's XBS Shamorin (10:5).
Mario Filipi from Lazio was declared the best player of the tournament in the coach's selection, the best goalkeeper was Nikolaj Salas from Šamorin, and the best scorer was Uroš Munćan, a member of the Serbian national team.
As in previous years, the result was not in the foreground, but the boys socializing with their peers from different countries and reviving the memory of Nenad Manojlović.
In addition to the competitive matches, the teams traditionally had one day for an excursion, which was held for the second year in a row in the Vrnjačka Banja and Aqua park "Raj".
All participants pointed out that they enjoyed the tournament, praising the organization and hospitality of the hosts. The atmosphere at the pool was friendly and cheerful, and the young water polo players took advantage of the opportunity to make new friends and exchange experiences. The tournament showed once again that sport knows no borders and that the most important thing is mutual respect and friendship.
