A1 F – The Australian Charlize Andrews first market coup of the Ekipe Orizzonte for the next season

In a few days she will be involved in the Olympic Games scheduled for Paris, together with Bronte Halligan and her other national team teammates, and immediately after she will begin her adventure with the red and blue cap.

Ekipe Orizzonte scores its first transfer coup in view of next season by signing Charlize Andrews, born on 26 December 2001 in Brisbane, Australia, who will be available to the team coached by Martina Miceli from the end of summer.

Considered one of the rising stars in the world, she began her water polo journey at a very young age when she attended St. Paul's School in Brisbane, then moving on to the Queensland Thunder and immediately making her mark in the Australian Water Polo League.

A striker of great quality, she showed off as the best player at the youth and junior World Cups, making her debut with the senior national team in 2022 in the World League in Peru and confirming her growth both at the 2023 World Cup in Japan and in the this year in Doha.

The Olympics in France will therefore represent a great new opportunity for her to further mature in the international field, before starting her experience in Catania with Ekipe Orizzonte.

The president of the Rossazzurra club welcomed her arrival, highlighting her qualities by expressing satisfaction with the Australian player's desire to embrace the project of the Catania club: «We are very happy – underlines Tania Di Mario – that Charlize has accepted the Horizon proposal. She is an athlete of international caliber and it is a pleasure that she has chosen to play with us and that she is enthusiastic about doing so. A new journey begins, with players who have a great desire to be part of it. We always feel very lucky because we have the opportunity to aim for high-level goals. We are waiting for Charlize, to whom we wish her good luck for the next Olympics."

The enthusiasm of the Australian striker accompanies and launches her ambitions in view of next season, in which she will play with the reigning Italian champions, thus joining her compatriot Bronte Halligan: «I am truly honored – underlines Charlize Andrews – to have been called by Orizzonte and to have the opportunity to play in such a prestigious club with a long history of success. I will do everything to immediately get in tune with the technical staff and with my new teammates to improve my game, with the aim of achieving great goals with this team. Having the opportunity to come to Catania and be part of Ekipe Orizzonte makes me very proud."
