A1 M - Vis Nova on a roll, fourth place it is

One of Roma Vis Nova's finest matches of the season as they defeat Telimar Palermo 18-7 and soar to fourth place in the standings. No one would have bet on such a placement for the lion's team at the beginning of the season, which means that this group has achieved something incredible, unique, and marvelous. Alessandro Calcaterra's team has clinched sole possession of the fourth spot at the end of the first half of the season, not only rewarding the beautiful performances in this early phase but also setting the lions up to compete in a quarter-final against De Akker Bologna in the Italian Cup (from March 13 to 15 in Naples). Rome Vis Nova had never reached such a prestigious milestone before. In short, a fantastic Rome Vis Nova that secures its second consecutive victory in 2025 and distances itself from its rivals. In the match against Telimar Palermo, we witnessed a great performance from the start, with a dominant Roma pulling ahead of the Palermitans. By the end of the second half, the match was practically decided, as the 6-1 lead had already exhausted the opponents (at halftime the score was 9-1). Everyone performed well, with Smjlievic once again standing out as the top scorer with four goals, followed by Agnolet with three goals. Grossi and Penava also contributed with three goals each. In just three days, Vis Nova has returned to its early-season form. Coach Alessandro Calcaterra's thoughts after the game: "I expected a different match; Palermo has a high-level roster and is a tough team. My players did well to interpret the match correctly, perhaps spurred on by the victory over Quinto. The fact is that we dominated throughout. It was a superb match, and all I can do is congratulate my team on this first half of the season. We finished with the fourth-best defense. The second half of the season will be tough with 8 away games and only 5 at home; we will have to fight, there is no room for complacency."
