Jake Ehrhardt Named Brown University Men’s Water Polo Assistant Coach
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Brown University Director of Water Polo and Men’s Head Coach Felix Mercado announced the hiring of Jake Ehrhardt as the program’s new assistant coach.
Ehrhardt joins the Bears after completing his collegiate career at the University of Southern California.
“I am extremely excited to add Jake Ehrhardt to our staff,” said Mercado. “Our programs’s goal is to compete for conference titles and Jake brings a championship pedigree to College Hill. He has been a part of elite teams his entire career and his experience at the highest levels of our sport, including as a member of the U.S. National team, will be instrumental in the development of our players in and out of the pool.”
A native of Camarillo, Calif., and a graduate of Oaks Christian High School, Ehrhardt finished his career at USC in 2022 as the sixth all-time leading scorer for the Trojans while being named a record five-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America selection. Ehrhardt helped his team to a National Championship in 2018 and three other appearances in the National Championship game. He was also named a Peter Cutino Award Finalist as one of the top-three players in the NCAA.
In national competition, Ehrhardt was the Team USA Captain in the 2019 FINA World U20 Championship and the 2019 Final World University Games. He was a member of the USA Water Polo Men’s Senior National Team from 2016-22.
