'Double' in Glyfada and 'farewell to 2024' for Panathinaikos, 11-9 against Ydraikos (pics)
In a competitive match at the Glyfada swimming pool, Panathinaikos emerged victorious against Ydraikos with a score of 11-9 in the 11th round of the Men's A1 Water Polo Championship.
With this win, the "greens" temporarily moved up to the second place, three points behind Vouliagmeni who had earlier defeated Palio Faliro 19-3. Moreover, they have one more game played compared to Panionios, with whom they are currently tied in points.
Dimitris Mazi's team took the lead in the match, however, the home team managed to equalize by halftime, and both teams went to the break with a 4-4 score. The start of the third period found Panathinaikos in better attacking form, taking advantage of Ydraikos' defensive weaknesses, securing a two-goal lead (6-8), which they maintained until the end of the match to finalize the score at 11-9.
In this victory, Panathinaikos had Kuruvanis and Rasovits as the top scorers with three goals each, while Tsatalios also stood out with three goals for Nikos Karamanis' team.
