Youth Teams, Positive Weekend for Training Academy O.R.
JUNIORS, Pescara N & PN – Training Academy O.R. 6-10
Two out of two and qualification secured! After the debut victory against Villa York, the Juniors of Training Academy O.R. also defeat Pescara Water Polo, finishing on top of their eliminatory group. A hard-fought and exciting match at the Naiadi pool, with the players led by Mino Di Cecca and Davide Bini managing to win 6-10 against a tough opponent on a challenging and always difficult field. Congratulations to the coaching staff and all the athletes: Training Academy O.R. is once again among the top 32 teams in Italy
The coach's analysis, Mino Di Cecca: "I was really aiming for the qualification for the Junior top-tier league, both for the boys - who had struggled a little at the beginning of the year due to my demands for attention during training - and for the club, which has aimed to develop a growth program for the youth sector, providing us with the basis - with pool space and equipment - for a technical-tactical work that is slowly beginning to bear fruit. It was an exciting match in Pescara. We still make many mistakes in managing game time and are too instinctive in crucial moments of the match, but compared to the beginning of the year, I liked the diligence and character of the boys. Unfortunately, we had to suddenly do without the center forward and had to change all our training programs. In a new team, with a new coach, creating a game without the main offensive reference point takes more time. Playing against stronger teams can help us continue our growth."
BOYS, Tyrsenia – Training Academy O.R. 5-12
Third game and third victory for the Boys of Training Academy O.R., who defeat Tyrsenia 5-12 in Cerveteri. The game was in control of coach Maurizio Gatto's young team from the beginning, showing good game management throughout. With 9 points from 3 games, Training Academy secures the first place in their group and qualifies among the top ten teams in the Lazio region. After the Christmas holidays, it's time to get serious with the elite group: another crucial moment of competition with the best teams, essential for the growth journey of our youngsters.
BOYS B, Villa Aurelia – Training Academy O.R. 25-0
A clear defeat for the Boys B of Training Academy O.R., losing 25-0 against Villa Aurelia. The match was dominated from the early minutes by the home team, bigger, more prepared, and more ready than the athletes coached by Massimiliano Grilli, almost all experiencing their first time in a top-tier league. Finishing the qualification group in fourth place, after the Christmas holidays, Training Academy O.R. will face opponents more within their reach in the next stage.
BEGINNERS, Training Academy O.R. – Club Acquatico Pescara 10-4
A winning and convincing debut for the Beginners of Training Academy O.R., who defeat Club Acquatico Pescara 10-4. At CSI Flaminio, the youngest athletes coached by Maurizio Gatto and Massimiliano Grilli play an organized and lively water polo game, based on fun. The best way to start the new competitive season with a good dose of enthusiasm. Before the match, a moment of sharing between two great coaches, today opponents, experienced and knowledgeable, who have chosen to dedicate themselves to the growth and education of children: our Maurizio Gatto and the Greek Yiannis Giannouris.
Coach Maurizio Gatto's comment: "We started well with the Beginners winning this first match against Pescara, with a good approach to the game. With the Boys, we are meeting expectations, but - as I always tell them during training - we really need to work very hard and with great commitment. We have a long journey ahead of us and we are not even at the beginning."
