Radnički Looking for a Way Out of Crisis Against Zvezda, Novi Beograd Hosts Šabac
In the first match of the tenth round of the Premier Regional League, the water polo team of Crvena zvezda will host Radnički today at 5:30 pm (Arena Premium 3). Radnički is seeking a way out of crisis after the failure at the final tournament of the Serbian Cup, followed by an unexpected defeat at home against Jadran from Herceg Novi, which brought them just one point behind.
On the other hand, the red-and-whites have the opportunity to get back into the race for the final tournament and will try to surprise the favored opponent. Today another match of the tenth round will be played, and in the Croatian derby Jadran in Split will host Mladost from Zagreb at 7:00 pm. The remaining four matches of this round are scheduled for Saturday when Primorac hosts Valis (6:00 pm), Jug – Solaris (7:00 pm), Jadran HN – Primorje (7:00 pm), and Novi Beograd – Šabac (7:45 pm).
The team from Kragujevac has been playing inconsistently this season, so they need a victory in this match after the defeat against Jadran from Herceg Novi at home to get back on track.
– We are definitely in a results crisis, but I think the pieces are slowly coming together, and I hope that through these two very important matches, we will manage to raise our form to the desired level and approach the break in a better atmosphere. We don't stick to all our agreements, we lack a bit of that energy, and we will try to get moving in this match and finally start showing our true face– said Bogdan Gavrilović, a Serbian national team player from Radnički.
In the past few seasons, the team from Kragujevac has had intense battles with the "red-and-whites," so another exciting derby is expected.
– It's always uncertain and tough against Zvezda because of their specific style of play, which hardly suits anyone. Moreover, they are extremely uncomfortable on their home turf, and it won't be easy for us to secure a victory. First, we need to fight with ourselves and raise our desire and energy. Our defense is not at its highest level; we have conceded a large number of goals, stemming from a lack of aggressiveness. I think swimming and our physical fitness, which is very good, could be decisive in the match– believes Gavrilović, as reported by the club's website.
