A1 F – Bogliasco also conquers Brizz's home
Once again, it's a daring Bogliasco that characterizes the eighth round of the women's Serie A1 championship. Also at Brizz Acireale's den, Mario Sinatra's girls confirm their harmony with away matches, obtaining the third victory of the season away from home.
Falling to the blows of Rogondino and her teammates were, as mentioned, the Sicilian team Brizz, defeated narrowly (9-8) at home at the end of a match always led by the Ligurians. Excluding the first half of the first period, when the home team briefly took the lead by one goal twice, the balance of the game was always tilted towards the guests, skilled in overturning the initial disadvantage with the first equalizer scored by Marta Carpaneto, the second by Bianca Rosta, and the lead by Giulia Bozzo. The minimal advantage accumulated in the first quarter then held until the end, also thanks to the three identical partials (2-2) recorded by the two teams in the following periods. Bogliasco attempted to widen the gap several times, but Brizz always stayed in close pursuit, never managing to go beyond a temporary tie. The white and blue team tried to make a comeback at the start of the second half with Carlotta Paganuzzi's 4-2, but they were caught up by two consecutive goals from Acireale, only to be answered from a distance by Carpaneto. Brizz leveled the match two more times after the change of pools, but on both occasions, the quick response from Bogliasco came, with goals from Giulia Millo and Bianca Rosta. The last eight minutes were decidedly less competitive, at least from a scoring perspective, as the white and blues managed to close the game early with goals from Lucia Virzi and Eleonora Bianco, leading by three. This margin did not discourage Brizz, who until the very end sought a comeback halted at just one goal away from a tie.
"I am content," commented Mario Sinatra after the game. "It wasn't easy to come here, face a very long journey and a tough opponent, and manage to bring home three very important points. Good for the victory, a bit less for the performance, as we were good but not great. We made mistakes we had worked hard on during the week and that I hoped not to see. Today things turned out well for us, but certainly in the next game, in two weeks against Padova, we cannot afford to repeat them. Anyway, I am satisfied with what the girls have done so far. We have won three direct away matches and the only regret remains the home defeat against Cosenza. But for now, it's okay."
