Apollon Smyrnis bids farewell to Europe with a victory, beats Strasbourg 17-11
With a significant and wide victory, Apollon Smyrnis bid farewell to European competitions for this season.
The "light cavalry" prevailed over the French team of Strasbourg with a score of 17-11 at the Seraphim Natatorium, in the 6th and final match of the Euro Cup group stage. Apollon Smyrnis finished in 3rd place in Group A standings with 7 points but failed to advance to the quarter-finals, as YUG defeated Brescia earlier and claimed the 2nd place.
After three exciting quarters, Apollon's players dominated the fourth and final quarter with a partial score of 8-1, securing the overall victory with a final score of 17-11. Top scorers were Randjelovic (4 goals), Troulos, and Gardikas (with 3 goals each).
