Defeat and Elimination for Panathinaikos, 10-8 loss to Sabac
Panathinaikos suffered an away defeat against Serbian team Sabac with a score of 10-8, in the 6th and final match of the Men's Euro Cup. With this loss, the "greens" were eliminated from further participation in the European competition.
The match didn't start well for Dimitris Mazis' team, as they found themselves trailing 6-1 at the end of the first period. However, they later improved in defense and offense, narrowing the gap to just one goal by the end of the third quarter (8-7). They even came within one goal of their opponents once again (9-8), but with 3:59 left, they conceded the tenth goal, unable to respond for the rest of the match, resulting in a 10-8 victory for the home team.
For Panathinaikos, Papasifakis stood out with three goals, while Novakovic led the scoring for Sabac with the same number of goals.
