Radnički sinks Dinamo in farewell from the Champions League
The water polo players of Radnički achieved a routine victory in the final round of the Champions League, at their home pool, against Dinamo from Tbilisi, with a score of 8:6.
The coach of the Kragujevac team, Uroš Stevanović, shuffled the cards a bit in this duel, so Duško Pijetlović, Radomir Drašović, and Marko Janković watched the match from the stands, while Valiko Dadvani, Bogdan Gavrilović, and Lazar Antić were given a chance.
In contrast to the first duel in Georgia, when they secured victory in the last attack, the Šumadinci this time held the reins of the game in their hands from start to finish, thus ending their participation in this season's most elite European club competition with a victory.
Radnički started the match excellently, especially in defense, and had a lead of 5:0 until the last minute of the first half. The guests finally broke through and reduced the score before the break with two consecutive goals from Serbian international Boris Vapenski – 5:2.
In the continuation of the match, the players under coach Stevanović's guidance controlled the game and calmly brought it to an end.
The most efficient player in the winning team was Strahinja Rašović with three goals, while on the other side, Boris Vapenski scored two.
Kragujevac finished the group stage of the Champions League in third place on the table, so they will continue the competition in the Euro Cup, as will Dinamo, who finished fourth.
Prior to that, Radnički's water polo team has three matches in the Regional League in December, with the first one scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. against Jadran from Herceg Novi, in Kragujevac.
