Primorac Wins Montenegro Cup! | Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro
The Primorac water polo team has won the Montenegro Cup for the 2024/25 season.
For the third time in history, the trophy goes to Kotor, after defeating Jadran m:tel in a thrilling final in Nikšić 14:11 (2:5, 5:3, 3:1, 4:2).
Primorac achieved victory through excellent play in the third and fourth quarters, led by the fantastic shooting performance of Dušan Matković, who scored six goals from seven shots, and exceptional defensive play, especially on man-down situations.
Jadran started the match better, taking a lead of 4:1 and finishing the first quarter with a score of 5:2, but ultimately, the team from Kotor completely dominated the game.
By halftime, Primorac had returned to the match, with a possibly decisive moment being a spectacular goal by Draško Brguljan in the last second of the second quarter, hitting the goal from a long distance and reducing the gap to 8:7.
In the third and fourth periods, the Kotor team outperformed their opponents.
The score remained close until the middle of the last quarter when Primorac went on a big run – from being tied 10:10, they reached 14:10 with two minutes and 20 seconds left. The winner was determined...
In addition to the outstanding performance by Matković, Marko Mršić was efficient with three goals, Draško Brguljan scored two, Petar Ćetković, Nikola Brkić, and Nika Šušijašvili each scored one. Goalkeeper Franćesko Masaro made nine saves.
For Jadran, Matija Sladović scored three goals, Vasilije Radović scored two, Vuk Milojević, Aleksandar Ivović, Strahinja Gojković, Danilo Radović, Jovan Vujović, and Dimitrije Obradović each scored one goal, while Darko Đurović made eight saves.
