A2 M - Second consecutive defeat for Acquachiara: Neapolitans lose 9-8 to Waterpolo Palermo
In a difficult and balanced championship where all matches are open to any result, lowering the tension can become lethal. Acquachiara suffers its second consecutive defeat, losing 9-8 to Waterpolo Palermo in the match valid for the fourth day of the Southern group of the A2 series championship. The match was decided by the goal scored by Eskert, in a man-up situation thirty seconds from the end. The home team overturned the initial disadvantage with a 4-0 lead signed by a doublet from De Gregorio, a goal from Pasquale Porzio with a man advantage, and the first goal of the day from De Florio, the top scorer of the match with a poker. Once they reached the maximum disadvantage, the Sicilians relied on their more experienced players and finished the first half with a score of 5-4, thanks to a fantastic long-distance shot by Migliaccio. The 5-5 goal scored by Galioto at the start of the third quarter led to a back-and-forth match that was only resolved in the final moments. The home team paid a high price for their poor conversion rate in man-up situations, their bad luck in hitting the goalposts, and their mistakes in finalizing actions. Captain De Gregorio and teammates can compensate for their lack of experience compared to other teams only if they can play at a high pace and with great intensity for all four quarters. Just as it was not necessary to get too excited after the first two victories, now there is no need to be discouraged by two setbacks that, from an experience point of view, can be of exponential value for the team with the youngest average age in the tournament. Coach Porzio's vast experience and his wisdom in managing delicate situations will certainly guide the young white and blue players on the path to recovery. Starting Monday, work will resume to prepare for the Saturday derby against Ischia Marine Club. Defender Mattia Fortunato speaks after the match.
Mattia Fortunato
It was a tough match, tight until the end. We are a young team that can grow, that is eager to win, but we must learn to impose our game and manage the final part of the match.
