No. 6 Men’s Water Polo Set To Face Stanford In NCAA Quarterfinals


PRINCETON, N.J.- The No. 6 Princeton men's water polo team will face the No. 2 Stanford Cardinal in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Dec. 6 at 2:00 PM for the program's tenth NCAA Tournament Appearance.

The Tigers earned their fourth consecutive Northeast Water Polo Conference crown with a 17-6 victory over the Brown Bears. Roko Pozaric paced Princeton with four goals and Vladan Mitrovic and Gavin Appeldorn each notched a hat trick in the win.

Princeton and Stanford have not met yet this season, but both teams competed at the MPSF Overnght Invitational in September. The Tigers last beat the Cardinal came 2022 with an 11-10 final with Pozaric scoring the game winner with 13 seconds left in the game.

The seeding for the NCAA Tournament is No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 USC, No. 3 Fordham, No. 4 Stanford, No. 5 Princeton, No. 6 Long Beach State, No. 7 Cal Baptist, and No. 8 Salem (WV).

The winner of Princeton and Stanford will take on the winner of the No. 1 UCLA and Salem in the NCAA Semifinals on Dec. 7 at 5:00 p.m. The NCAA Championship is on Dec. 8 at 6 PM on ESPNU.
