USA Women Defeat Brazil 18-3 For Fourth Straight Win In Colombia

Ibague, Colombia - November 23 - The USA Women's National Team picked up their fourth straight win at the Pan American Championship defeating Brazil 18-3. Emma Lineback and Rachel Gazzaniga scored three goals each to lead the offense with while Amanda Longan added seven saves in net. Team USA raced out to a quick lead going in front 3-0 after the first quarter with Emily Ausmus, Ava Stryker and Gazzaniga all scoring goals. The offense continued in the second quarter as they piled up six unanswered goals to build a 9-0 lead at halftime. Six different players found the cage in that quarter to take control fo the game.
The offense continued to fire on all cylinders, as five different players scored in the third. Brazil got on the board for the first time as Team USA went ahead 14-1 after three periods. Brazil delivered two more goals in the fourth quarter but the United States answered with four of their own to secure the victory.
The United States went 5/10 on power plays and 3/4 on penalties while Brazil went 1/8 on power plays with no penalties attempted.
